MEET THE TEAM

TAMMY DAVIS

Director / B.Pod / MAPodA

Tammy was born and raised in Bendigo, where her love for sport and an active lifestyle began early, spending many hours on the tennis court. This passion for movement and well-being inspired her to pursue a career in health sciences, and she went on to study Podiatry at La Trobe University in Melbourne. After completing her degree in 1995, she returned to Bendigo in 1998 to establish Tammy Davis Podiatry, and she has enjoyed nearly 30 years of helping people with their foot health needs.

Today, Tammy’s practice is home to two podiatrists and two incredibly supportive admin staff – her mum and dad – creating a close-knit, family-like atmosphere. Throughout her career, Tammy has adopted new techniques and refined her skills, but her core motivation remains her holistic approach to care. She strives to treat every patient as a whole, focusing on achieving the best possible outcomes for each individual.

Tammy loves working with her vibrant and talented team, all while helping her patients regain mobility and improve their overall well-being. Outside of work, she enjoys balancing her career with family life, spending time with her husband, Lachlan, and their four children – Spencer, Charlotte, Poppy, and Stella. “I feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive family, a dedicated team, and wonderful clients who inspire me every day with their stories, and the joy of seeing them pain-free.”

SALLY DEED

Sally has been practising Podiatry for over 10 years. Sally graduated from Latrobe University, Bundoora, and started her career as a new graduate in 2011 with Tammy Davis Podiatry. It is wonderful to have Sally and her expertise back in the fold. Sally brings a wide range of experience particularly in wound care and prevention, as well as a keen focus on the importance of reducing foot pain to improve balance and mobility. Sally is also a strong advocate for correct fitting footwear and helping her clients find the right fit and style for them.

In her spare time, Sally usually enjoys hiking and Mountain Bike Riding, and enjoys chasing after little feet at home.

Ryen Nixon

RYEN NIXON

B.Pod Med.

Ryen grew up Jindera NSW, a stone throw away from the border town of Albury/Wodonga. Ryen completed his podiatry degree at Charles Sturt University, which he graduated from in 2018.

Since then, Ryen has worked in Warrnambool, spread across community health, high risk foot health, however, he has spent most of his time working in private clinics.

Ryen has a keen interest in biomechanics/foot pain, and loves seeing people getting back to what they love doing most, whether it is walking the pooch, swinging the sticks at golf, or trying to run a marathon.

Ryen has recently been married in Bendigo, and has moved back to be closer to family, and settle in for a family life.

In his down time, Ryen finds it very easy to not do a whole lot, or a lot on the house. He loves walking his dog Ruby, as challenging as that can be some days, and will eat a sweet treat every single day.

Ryen has played soccer his whole life, but at his tender age has decided on an early retirement.

JULIAN HANSSENS

Podiatrist / B.H.Sc. (Pod.) G.Cert. (Diab. Ed.) / Credentialled Diabetes Educator (former)

Julian brings a remarkable breadth of experience to the Tammy Davis Podiatry team, shaped by years of practice across some of Australia and New Zealand’s most diverse and demanding communities.

Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, Julian developed a passion for podiatry that has taken him across Australasia and back. After graduating from Auckland University of Technology in 2005, he worked in Christchurch, across North and North West Tasmania, Mildura, South Gippsland, and for over five years in Far North Queensland—gaining a depth of clinical experience few practitioners can match. Julian first joined Tammy Davis Podiatry in 2010, and we are thrilled to welcome him back.

In the years between, Julian completed a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education in Melbourne in 2015, later earning Credentialled Diabetes Educator status. This dual qualification is rare in podiatry and allows him to offer truly holistic care for patients living with diabetes, supporting both foot health and overall quality of life.

Julian is passionate about biomechanics and the difference that pain-free movement makes to people’s lives. Whether working with adolescents, older patients managing mobility challenges, or those navigating diabetic foot health, his focus is always on practical, compassionate, and lasting outcomes. He has a particular interest in supporting patients through the colder months, helping to prevent chilblains and related complications.

Now happily settled in the Southern Loddon region, Julian is embracing the semi-rural lifestyle and enjoying growing his garden, with plans for a dog on the horizon. We are delighted to have his warmth and expertise back at Tammy Davis Podiatry.
